leveling out cholesterol levels can be a difficult task. Keeping cholesterol at an acceptable level can be even harder. Thankfully, new research has lead experts to believe that eating half a cup of walnuts can decrease bad cholesterol levels.
Walnuts are known for lowering heart disease risk and strokes. Now, walnuts are being known for lowering low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels which reduces the amount of bad cholesterol levels in the body. This is due to walnuts being rich in omega-3 fatty acids which bring a huge benefit to cardiovascular health.
A recent study taken showed that along with diet, eating half a cup of walnuts a day can significantly reduce the amount of LDL particles a person has in their system. The study was taken with 708 participants with a little over half the participants being healthy. One half of the group were given half a cup of walnuts a day while the other half did not have any walnuts. The study concluded that the group that took the half a cup of walnuts were generally healthier due to the walnuts cancelling out bad cholesterol levels.
