Did You Know!
🔊 2. Your ears emit sound — even when you’re silent
Healthy inner ears produce faint noises called otoacoustic emissions (OAEs). These are microscopic “echoes” generated by hair cells in the cochlea as they amplify incoming sound waves.
Doctors can actually measure these emissions to test newborn hearing — even before a baby is a day old. If OAEs are missing, it often signals inner ear damage.
