A Rare Skin Disorder Can Cause People to Sweat Different Colors

A fascinating condition called chromhidrosis can cause a person’s sweat to appear blue, green, yellow, brown, or even black.

In some cases, this happens because of a pigment called lipofuscin in certain sweat glands. Colored sweat can appear on the face, underarms, or other areas of the body.

Interesting fact: Sometimes sweat changes color only after reaching the skin because of bacteria or other substances on the surface. This related condition is called pseudochromhidrosis.
