Your brain “fills in” most of your reality.

Your visual perception is partly fabricated.

The human eye has a blind spot where the optic nerve connects, but we don’t see a gap in our vision. Why? Because your brain automatically fills it in with surrounding details—just like it does with patterns, colors, and motion. Much of what you “see” is your brain’s best guess, not raw input. This is why optical illusions and hallucinations are possible—they’re bugs in the brain’s predictive coding.
