People often argue about the “strongest muscle,” but the answer changes depending on how strength is defined.
- By force output, the jaw muscle (masseter) ranks near the top
- By endurance, the heart never stops working
- By size relative to force, some muscles in the calf outperform larger muscles
So when someone claims a single muscle is the strongest, they’re usually only telling part of the story.
