As we age, most Americans begin to see the little wrinkles around their eyes and their hair slowly turning more grey. For most of us, we feel like its too soon and want to preserve our youth.

Here are steps you can begin to take now to slow down the aging process that aren’t rocket science and doesn’t cost a million dollars either thanks to Wikihow:

Regularly apply sunscreen

Too much sunlight doesn’t does just cause skin cancer, it also does extensive damage to your skin and can make you look much older than what you really are. Make sure your sunscreen is broad-spectrum sunscreen and protects against both UVA and UVB rays and is at least SPF 30 or greater.

Don’t Smoke

If there wasn’t already a million reasons to avoid smoking, here is another. Smoking constricts blood vessels and decreases the oxygen in your blood. This prevents your skin from getting all the healthy “stuff” it naturally would for nonsmokers and makes you look older.

Men, be careful how you shave

Shaving improperly can cause unneeded stress and irritation to your face and make you look much older than what you are. Always use high quality shaving cream/lotion and remember to change your razor blades often. It is also a good idea to apply a face lotion after your shave to give your skin extra moisture.

Use moisturizer cream/lotion daily

If you regularly apply a daily moisturizer you skin will feel hydrated and keep elasticity for years to come. As your doctor for the best facial cream to ensure its best suited for your skin type.
