Rhodiola (Rhodiola rosea)
While Rhodiola is not proven to treat depressive symptoms yet, several studies have shown promising results.
Saffron Extract
In studies, saffron supplements have shown to treat symptoms of depression as well. Saffron is thought to send serotonin to the brain which acts as a mood booster.
Omega-3 fatty acids
Thanks to some studies, Omega-3 fatty acids have shown to treat pregnant and postpartum women with depression.
Other supplements such as NAC (N-acetylcysteine), Vitamin D, B vitamins, and Zinc all showed promise as well. It is recommended to speak to your doctor before starting and medication or vitamins.
