Did You Know!

The gallbladder acts as a storage organ for bile, a digestive fluid produced by the liver. Bile is primarily composed of water, bile salts, cholesterol, and bilirubin. However, while the liver continuously produces bile, the gallbladder concentrates and stores it between meals. When you eat, especially when you consume fatty foods, the gallbladder releases bile into the small intestine to aid in the digestion and absorption of fats.
