The hypothalamus, a small region in the brain, plays a central role in controlling the endocrine system. It acts as the link between the nervous system and the endocrine system by releasing hormones that either stimulate or inhibit the release of hormones from the pituitary gland, which in turn regulates other endocrine glands throughout the body.
