Did You Know!
Your skin, the body’s largest organ, undergoes a continuous process of renewal. The outermost layer, the epidermis, is primarily composed of cells called keratinocytes. These cells are constantly shed and replaced by new ones from the underlying layers. In fact, it’s estimated that you shed around 30,000 to 40,000 dead skin cells every minute! This process of shedding dead cells and generating new ones helps maintain skin integrity, repair damage, and protect against pathogens. Additionally, the turnover of skin cells can be influenced by factors such as age, hormones, and environmental exposure, resulting in variations in skin appearance and texture over time.
