Did You Know!
Despite its relatively small size compared to the rest of the body (about 2% of total body weight), the human brain consumes a disproportionate amount of energy. It’s estimated that the brain consumes up to 20% of the body’s total energy expenditure, despite representing only a small fraction of its mass. This high energy demand is necessary to support the brain’s numerous functions, including information processing, neurotransmitter synthesis, and maintenance of neuronal connections.
