Some Nerves Regenerate… Very Slowly
While it’s widely believed nerve damage is permanent, peripheral nerves (outside the brain and spinal cord) can regenerate — but only at about 1 millimeter per day. That means a severed nerve in your leg could take months or even years to fully heal, and only if conditions are ideal.
