Your Lungs Can Float on Water
Unlike any other organ in the body, lungs can float because they’re filled with tiny air sacs called alveoli — about 480 million of them! Even after exhaling, residual air keeps them buoyant. In fact, pathologists once used the “lung float test” to determine if a newborn had ever taken a breath.
