Laughing can trigger a seizure in some people
Gelastic seizures are rare epileptic events that cause sudden, uncontrollable fits of laughter. They’re often caused by abnormalities in the hypothalamus and may occur with no emotional trigger at all. A person could be laughing during a seizure while feeling scared or confused internally.
