Did You Know!
The word “Tip” originally meant “To Insure Promptitude”.
The practice of tipping may have started since the late Middle Ages, but the word “tip” probably originated from Samuel Johnson. In the cafe that Johnson often frequented, a bowl labeled “To Insure Promptitude” was available for guests to drop coins for better service. This phrase was shortened to “T.I.P.”, which eventually became the word “tip” in modern days.
Your point of view caught my eye and was very interesting. Thanks. I have a question for you.
