Did You Know!
Plants, algae, and some bacteria use a process called photosynthesis to convert sunlight into chemical energy. During this process, these organisms absorb light energy using pigments like chlorophyll, and they use this energy to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose (a form of sugar) and oxygen. The equation for photosynthesis is 6 CO2 + 6 H2O + light energy → C6H12O6 + 6 O2.
