The kidneys are quite fond of blood flow. They reabsorb and redistribute 99% of the blood volume that passes through them, only turning 1% into urine. This is because they have a higher blood flow than even the brain and liver, with about 25% of the blood pumped by the heart going directly to the kidneys.
