Did You Know!
Human blood is categorized into different blood types based on the presence or absence of specific antigens on the surface of red blood cells. The most well-known blood type classification system is the ABO system, which includes blood types A, B, AB, and O. Additionally, blood is classified by the Rh factor, resulting in blood types being labeled as Rh-positive or Rh-negative. The combination of ABO and Rh factors determines an individual’s blood type, influencing blood transfusion compatibility and maternal-fetal compatibility during pregnancy.
