The nervous system plays a fundamental role in controlling and coordinating all bodily functions. It is divided into two main parts: the central nervous system (CNS), comprising the brain and spinal cord, and the peripheral nervous system (PNS), consisting of nerves that connect the CNS to the rest of the body. The CNS processes sensory information received from the PNS and initiates appropriate responses, allowing us to perceive stimuli, think, reason, and execute voluntary movements.
