Leprosy Can’t Be Spread by Touch Alone
Despite its reputation, leprosy (Hansen’s disease) is not highly contagious. Around 95% of people are naturally immune to it. It requires prolonged close contact to spread, usually via droplets from the nose and mouth. Touching someone with leprosy won’t give you the disease—and modern antibiotics can cure it.
