🫁 Your Lungs Can Grow New Tissue (To a Point)

Unlike many organs, the lungs have a limited ability to regenerate. In certain cases—such as after part of a lung is surgically removed—the remaining lung tissue can expand and partially regrow.

This has been observed in patients recovering from severe lung damage or surgery.

šŸ‘‰ Why this is surprising:
We often think organ damage is permanent, but the lungs show that the body still has hidden regenerative abilities—even in adulthood.
