Some People Are Allergic to Water (Aquagenic Urticaria)
Aquagenic urticaria is one of the rarest disorders in the world. People with this condition develop painful, itchy hives within minutes of their skin coming into contact with water—including rain, sweat, tears, or even their own saliva. The reaction isn’t caused by the water itself but by how it interacts with substances in the skin. Fewer than 100 cases have been documented in medical literature.
