Researchers are now claiming that Americans can reduce their chances of developing Type 2 Diabetes by simply eating two servings of fruit per day.

According to Heathline, People who consume at least 2 servings of fruit can lower their blood glucose levels while maintaining healthy insulin levels at the same time.

Also people should be aware that simply consuming the fruit juice isn’t as beneficial as eating the actual fruit.

“We found an association between fruit intake and markers of insulin sensitivity, suggesting that people who consumed more fruit had to produce less insulin to lower their blood glucose levels,” Nicola Bondonno, PhD said.

“This is important because high levels of circulating insulin (hyperinsulinemia) can damage blood vessels and are related not only to diabetes, but also to high blood pressure, obesity, and heart disease,” she went on to say.
