🫀 Your Heart Has Its Own Electrical System — It Can Beat Outside the Body
Even when completely separated from the body, the human heart can continue to beat for a short period — as long as it has oxygen.
That’s because it has its own built-in electrical system (the sinoatrial node, or natural pacemaker) that controls rhythm independently of the brain.
In other words, your heart doesn’t need your brain to tell it to keep pumping — it’s wired to keep you alive all on its own.
