Your blood can glow under UV light if you’re exposed to porphyrins

Porphyrins are natural molecules involved in making heme (the oxygen-carrying part of hemoglobin). In people with certain rare disorders (like porphyria), these build up in the blood—and under a black light, their blood can actually glow red or fluorescent pink. It’s one reason porphyria was linked to vampire legends!
