According to Medical News Today, many researchers have been looking into the causes of certain types of cancer in humans and their studies suggest that diet can strongly impact ones risk of cancer.

Scientists agree that certain types of meat such as red meat have a strong relation with stomach and breast cancer risk. Medical News Today reported that “In 2015, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), part of the World Health Organization (WHO), classified processed meat as carcinogenic and unprocessed red meat as ‘probably’ carcinogenic.”

Ultra-processed foods such as, protein isolates, hydrogenated oils, high-fructose corn syrup, flavor enhancers, artificial sweeteners, and thickeners, have a big association with cancer risk. Health experts state in an 2018 study that “data on almost 105,000 people found that increasing the dietary proportion of ultra-processed foods by 10% had associations with a significant 12% increased risk of overall cancer and an 11% increased chance of developing breast cancer.”
