Not Everyone With a Stomach Ulcer Feels Pain
Contrary to popular belief, stomach ulcers aren’t always painful. Some people have “silent ulcers” that cause few or no warning signs until complications develop.
Instead of severe stomach pain, they may notice:
- Feeling full quickly
- Mild nausea
- Unexplained fatigue
- Black, tarry stools (a sign of bleeding)
- Low iron levels
This is one reason doctors recommend evaluation when persistent digestive symptoms or unexplained anemia occur.
