Progeria, also known as Hutchinson-Gilford Progeria Syndrome (HGPS), is an extremely rare genetic disorder that causes accelerated aging in children. Children with progeria exhibit symptoms of premature aging, such as baldness, joint abnormalities, and cardiovascular issues. The condition is caused by a mutation in the LMNA gene and is usually fatal, with affected individuals having a significantly shortened lifespan.
