Did You Know!
Heart Failure Doesn’t Mean the Heart Has Stopped
One of the biggest misconceptions is that “heart failure” means the heart has completely stopped beating. In reality, heart failure means the heart can no longer pump blood efficiently enough to meet the body’s needs. It often develops gradually and may initially cause only subtle symptoms.
Early signs include:
- Shortness of breath
- Swollen legs
- Rapid weight gain from fluid retention
- Fatigue
- Trouble lying flat while sleeping
Early diagnosis and treatment can significantly improve quality of life and reduce hospitalizations.
