The circulatory system has two main circuits: the pulmonary circuit and the systemic circuit. The pulmonary circuit carries deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs for oxygenation and then back to the heart. The systemic circuit carries oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the rest of the body and returns deoxygenated blood back to the heart.
